KB Circle

In Hungarian, KB stands for approximately. But in our case it stands for Tuesday Conversations, which is the name of the male-circle I started in January 2006.

Ruby Tuesday

Very little to do with the famous Rolling Stones song, but this group of men come together every fortnight on Tuesdays. The inspiration came from the book Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom and during the first 6months of the gatherings we were reading excerpts from the book to connect it to our topics of the day.

My intent was and is to create a sacred circle for males where everyone is free to share emotions, ideas, views on any topic that is related to our masculinity. To discover what it means to be in our heads and how it is different - if at all - to journey into our hearts. How difficult it is to get rid of our world's expectations and our own expectations towards us men! Later on I came across various other sources by authors like Bly, Rohr, Deida, Johnson to name a few from the list and these books continue popping-up every now and then. And of course our own stories that we carry every day, sometimes without realizing what a treasure we have in our hands...

A Few Good Men

Not quite like Jack Nicholson in this particular movie but we have our hard times as well. The group is open to everyone and from time to time we have new people check in. Maybe just for one occasion, maybe for more - this is really not the point from my perspective. It is more to take the courage (which I like to interpret from the French roots, as the rage of the heart) to try to do something, even if just a little to change your environment. And why wouldn't you start that change with yourself? As a good, honourable and noble man.

There are male retreats during the summers, which have been and will be (it is my intent) co-facilitated by international teachers. Those are opportunities to get a different perspective, to be among men who are ready to change and to do something. Men who are ready to be today's warriors, as their great-grandfathers were - which doesn't mean weapons and fights, nor aggressiveness. It is the way of the peaceful warrior. Look up on the internet for this expression for more insights and information.

And when one thinks it is way too much of a separation between women and men, here you go with a sentence from Robert A. Johnson's book, He: "A woman's masculinity or a man's femininity is closer than one realizes."

For the time being, the comments/texts of our biweekly meetings are only in Hungarian, however my intention is to keep this English part alive as well, not to mention the summer retreats, which are open to all interested. I encourage all my fellow-men of to realize how important is to be conscious about our gender and what energies are lying behind it, and at the same time I wish every woman to be aware of the enormous support they can provide for a man to walk his way.

I look forward to meeting with other male circles, to facilitating more of such events and to exchanging experiences in order to create a better world, with more stability between men, men-women and human beings, in general. Put your intent out and that's how your journey begins. At least mine started like that...

    Love and lights all around.
